Email can be handled in one of two ways:

Have all your email forwarded to your current email address (the one your ISP gave you when you signed up for their service).
Create custom "POP" accounts which can be yourname@yourdomain.com. This is a standard included feature included with your hosting account.

The most popular domain name registrar is Network Solutions. However, they no longer have a monopoly and numerous competitors have appeared. Network Solutions is infamous for poor support! One company we've used with success is namecheap.com.
